December 4, 2012—Creativity is one of the hallmarks of many a school nutrition program, and even a small idea or change can have a significant impact on your cafeteria participation. The December issue of School Nutrition, SNA’s award-winning flagship publication, showcases ideas and inspirations of all kinds that you just might want to implement in your own operation. The issue also includes a look at stir-fry techniques and how the one-pot dish can be incorporated into a school nutrition operation.

Sometimes it takes just one little inspiration to generate a big innovation. For proof, dive into “Who’s Putting Ideas Into Your Head?”, which spotlights two dozen ideas that school nutrition professionals from across the country have successfully put into practice. Bonus Web Content: Be sure to check out additional big and little ideas for improving school nutrition operations, as well as a list of resource and/or contact information for each of the innovations spotlighted in print and online.

If it’s inspiration on buying and serving locally-produced foods that you’re looking for, “Go Grow!” offers reflections from last summer’s National Farm to Cafeteria Conference that provide tips for getting started with farm-to-school—or stepping up your efforts.

Learn more about stir-fry and how to cause a stir in your cafeteria by serving up fresh, versatile one-pot dishes in “Wok This Way.” Bonus Web Content: Don’t miss additional online-only stir-fry recipes, as well as tips for caring for a wok.
