We are considering the use of a biometric finger scanner as a way of identifing students  as they come thru the lunch line.  Has anyone implemented this in  their program?  What pitfalls did you encounter?  We are looking at a company called IdentiMetrics. Has anyone used them before and how did the copmpany preform?

We use biometric scanners at all of our campuses for purchasing meals.  It's wonderful!  No lost cards, no forgotten numbers!  The only issue is the initial scanning of students (rather time consuming to get them all) and then coming up with a good solution to get new students scanned.  Other than that, it's great.  We do not use the company you listed, but do use Food Service Solutions out of PA.
