FINAL EVENT: The Beach Boys
Let’s take a trip back in time. The year was 1962—the year Marilyn Monroe famously crooned “Happy Birthday, Mr. President,” artist Andy Warhol was inspired by a Campbell’s soup can and television sets were tuned into the premiere of “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.” And over the transistor radio, The Beach Boys were creating a sound for the times—the sound of summer, surf and laid-back California cool. Fast forward to today and the band is still going strong, further cementing their place as music legends and American icons.
Whether you’ve listened to them for years, are rediscovering their sun-kissed tunes or are discovering your inner surfer for the first time—what better time to see them than at the height of the summer season? And what better place to see them than at the ANC Final Event?! Break out the flip flops and sunglasses, and get ready to be swept up in a wave of “Good Vibrations,” as these Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famers take the stage. You’ll be out of your seat and dancing in the aisles in no time, once they start playing some of their timeless melodies, which include “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Surfin’ USA,” “God Only Knows,” “California Girls,” “I Get Around,” “Don’t Worry Baby,” “Kokomo” and “Fun, Fun, Fun.”
This memorable evening is sure to be the highlight of ANC 2012, so grab a friend and plan to be there! The event will take place at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 18, in the Colorado Convention Center. A ticket to the show is included in the full ANC conference registration fee, but space is limited and tickets will go quickly. Make sure you indicate your intention to attend on the ANC Registration Form.
