SNA Program Approval

The School Nutrition Association (SNA) offers Continuing Education Unit (CEU), Key Area Hour, and Core Course approval guidelines for school nutrition education programs. SNA approval of education programs allows providers to reach School Nutrition Professionals throughout the country and help SNA members satisfy the initial requirements for SNA Certification and maintenance of certification and SNS credentialing.

GUIDELINES

  • Requests for approval must be submitted to SNA for review 6-8 weeks prior to offering the program.
  • Once the program is approved, SNA will send notification via email which will include a certificate template. Each program participant must receive a certificate of completion.
  • A minimum of three learning objectives must be displayed at the beginning of the program presentation.
  • Handouts must be informational pieces directly related to the approved program.
  • Programs must be delivered without any type of promotional marketing or sale of products and/or services.
  • If the program content changes by more than 25%, then the provider must re-apply for program approval.

Below is a description of the types of programs that can be approved.
