SNA Awards Program


The SNA awards program is a great opportunity to highlight the outstanding and important work of SNA members and state affiliates!

Members and state affiliates are eligible for many awards and honors that recognize their achievements in school foodservice, leadership, membership recruitment and professional development. Each year SNA awards are presented to its outstanding leaders at the Annual National Conference during the State Awards Ceremony and General Sessions.

SNA Member Awards

  • Heart of the Program Award
    This award recognizes the valuable contributions of school nutrition employees who work prepare and serve appetizing and nutritious meals to children. Click here for more information about the award, nominations forms, and judging information.
  • Louise Sublette Award of Excellence in School Nutrition
    This award recognizes school nutrition mangers who have taken a special idea, developed it into a goal and used that goal to help the school nutrition’s program grow. Click here for more information about the award, application forms, and judging information.
  • Outstanding Director of the Year Award
    This award recognizes outstanding contributions of school nutrition directors who manage effective programs that provide healthful, appetizing, and nutritious meals to students. Click here for more information about the award, nominations forms, and judging information.

SNA State Affiliate Awards

  • Thelma Flanagan Gold Achievement Award
    This award honors State Presidents who support high professional standards for all members throughout their year in leadership. For complete instructions and the recognition form, click here.
  • President’s Award of Excellence
    This award recognizes three state presidents each year who demonstrate extraordinary leadership by successfully implementing strategies that result in advancing school nutrition programs in their states. For complete guidelines and instructions, click here.
  • Membership Awards
    State affiliates are given awards for increasing membership statewide, reaching the state affiliate’s membership growth goal, and achieving the highest growth in membership amongst states within the same membership division. For more information on membership awards, click here.
