
The School Nutrition Foundation (SNF) in partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service’s Office of Food Safety will be offering a FREE Wednesday Webinar on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 2:00-3:15 pm EDT, entitled “Applying Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) to Farm-to-School and School Gardens.”

This webinar will define the term GAPs and explain how they can be applied in school gardens and school nutrition programs. Hear from farm-to-school and school garden experts and find out what is happening in schools around the country. Learn what potential barriers you may encounter while sourcing or growing produce and strategies to safely bring fresh produce into your program.
Objectives:
- Participants will learn the 8 key principles of GAPs
- Participants will understand how GAPs relate to schools and school gardens
- Participants will learn about strategies to safely produce or source fresh produce
