Press Registration Now Available for 2005 Annual National Conference

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 2, 2005 – Nutrition standards for all foods served on campus, school food safety, local school wellness policies, financial management, preventing childhood obesity: join thousands of school nutrition professionals discussing these and many more topics in Baltimore, Maryland at the School Nutrition Association’s (formerly American School Food Service Association) 59th Annual National Conference, July 17-20, 2005.

Complimentary media registration is now available to attend the Annual National Conference (ANC), the world’s largest gathering of child nutrition professionals. The conference includes over 100 accredited educational breakout sessions, general session speakers and the largest exhibit hall in the school foodservice industry, featuring over 400 exhibitors. The pre-registration deadline for press is June 30, 2005. ANC 2005 will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center.

ANC provides members of the media an opportunity to take the pulse of the nation’s school nutrition programs:

  • Join thousands of child nutrition professionals as they participate in quality education sessions on food safety and security, managing finances, program regulations, networking, wellness and nutrition, human resources and leadership.
  • Explore the largest exhibit hall in the school foodservice industry with all the major suppliers of food, equipment and software/hardware technology for school nutrition programs. Many exhibitors will be featuring innovative new products that contribute to healthy school meal programs.
  • General session speakers include Cal Ripken Jr., Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Christopher P. Gardner and Jared Fogle. National awards will be presented.
  • The Global Child Nutrition Forum also returns. This year, GCNF will be held (July 14 – 17, 2005) just prior to ANC. The Forum will convene with school feeding experts from 12 countries discussing global child nutrition programs.
