ANC 2010: A Message from the Program Co-Chair

 Permanent link

I am so excited to be the Program Co-Chair for ANC Dallas and to be a part of an amazing team that has put together what I would say is one of the best conferences yet! It is unbelievable how many calls for proposals we received and I think you’ll be impressed by the scope of this year’s educational program.

With more than 80 sessions from which to choose and so many topics of interest, I imagine it’ll be hard for you to decide which ones to attend. We’ve lined up experts to speak on everything related to school nutrition programs—from “Nutrition 101: Simple Facts Applied to School Meals” to “Receiving and Your Bottom Line: Little Things Make Big Differences.” I encourage you to start looking over the sessions today by clicking here and start jotting down the ones that peak your interest. That way you can hit the ground running when you arrive next month. Don’t forget to check out the pre-conference sessions, too! I’m particularly thrilled by Saturday’s pre-con, “The Big D: Dallas ISD Operations.” I’ve had the opportunity to check out Dallas ISD’s foodservice operations center and I have one word to describe it: AMAZING!

Of course, when the learning is done for the day, the evening hours are a great time to take in the many sights of Dallas and to get caught up with your colleagues from across the nation. Speaking of checking out the sights, I’m thinking of signing up for one of the Dallas tours. Hmm…which tour looks good to you? Or perhaps you’re a Dallas native and can recommend different attractions to explore! Don’t be shy…share your thoughts below!

ANC in the Big D is sure to be a time for Learning, Networking, Laughing and, of course, Having Fun! I can’t wait and I hope you can’t either!

Cindy Brooks,
ANC Program Co-Chair

I am very excited about attending my very first ANC. I would love to get some ideas for exploring Dallas in the evenings.
