Did you know that there is a meeting at ANC just for you!? The Membership Section Meetings are designed with the needs of your particular professional level in mind and include important updates about current and upcoming SNA initiatives and other key issues. Here is a look at this year’s section meetings for District and Major City Directors/Supervisors:

District Director/Supervisor Section Meeting, Wednesday, July 14, 3:45–5:15 pm
Pat McCoy, Vice President Field Sales for Schwan’s Food Service, will speak about how to create a strategic business plan for school nutrition programs. Everyday, school nutrition professionals are expecting to deal with a growing list of concerns. From rising food costs to nutrition standards, special diets to high labor costs, the list of demands keeps growing!   Attendees will learn the tricks to developing a successful business plan that helps them tackle the seemingly overwhelming issues facing school nutrition programs and run their operations more efficiently.

Major City Director/Supervisor Section Meeting, Wednesday, July 14, 3:45–5:15 pm
Keith Ayoob, EdD, RD, FADA, Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, will present on the importance of breakfast, how the expansion is crucial for healthier children and share some fascinating data on this topic. Dr. Ayoob, who has previously presented at SNA’s Legislative Action Conference (LAC), is ever popular because of his content and delivery. Participants will also have a rare opportunity to discus other various topics with Dr. Ayoob—from how to deal with parents of allergic children to program cost containment and any topic or concern you want to discuss. Dr. Ayoob believes in talking about separating ideology from science and making sure we really know what research says…. plan to attend this meeting and plan to join in this informal discussion.

Are you a District or Major City Director? If yes, what’s your favorite part of these meetings? Share your thoughts in the comments section!
