The CN Label is in the midst of a big change, moving from USDA’s Food & Nutrition Service to its Agricultural Marketing Service, which will provide oversight. What does that change mean to your school foodservice program? Find out at the ANC education entitled, “The CN Label, What’s It Worth to You?” where experts will discuss the current state of the CN Labeling Program, as well as the advantages of the program for both the school nutrition operator and industry representative.
Barry Sackin, SNS, President of B. Sackin & Associates and one of the session’s speakers shared the following insight into the session:
“While industry and operators think about the changes to the CN Label Program, it’s also a good time evaluate exactly what the CN label is and what it is worth to all stakeholders. Many district directors (and states) almost automatically request or require CN labels on their center of the plate and juice items. Why? What do they believe they are getting, and do they know what it’s costing them? Yes, there is a price attached to that additional specification. During this session, information will be shared to help you make an informed decision. What you learn may surprise you!”
